May, are we done yet?

May is an extremely busy month around here, and this month was busier than normal.

We started the month with Carly's 7th birthday.  She wanted a swimming party and we had so much fun!

 Cousins make the best friends!
We celebrated at home a few days later.
 A dress from Mama.
Next up is Brianna's 10th birthday.  She wanted a sleepover with friends.
I was a little worried about having a bunch of 10 year old girls sleep over, but the were so cute and sweet little girls.
We celebrated on her birthday a few days later.  They got new fishing poles. (even one for dad)
 And a dress from Mama
May also means teacher appreciation week.  We love our teachers and as PTA president I was very busy every day helping with food and other activities.  I also made bags for all the teachers (39!  I used 16 yards of fabric and it didn't even make a dent in my stash)
I also got to go on a field trip with Carly's class.  Carly and her teacher.
We went to Red Butt Gardens.  It is one of my favorite places.  I could just sit in this spot all day.
Two more weeks to go  till school is out and I'm not sure I'm going to make it because it's a busy two weeks.

Zion

This past weekend were able to take a much needed vacation to Zion National Park.  Jon's family has been going there for Easter for the past 25 years.  We couldn't make it down Easter weekend, but his parents were still down there so we packed up and went.  The weather didn't quite cooperate with us though.  The first day were there we dove in to St, George and saw Jon's little brother.  We spent a little time in the park but I didn't bring the camera.  Day 2 we woke up to lots of rain, so we decided to take a drive up to the East entrance and through the tunnel.
It was snowing up there.

It was fun to see the park in the snow.
 Checkerboard Mesa

The other great thing about the rain, is lots of waterfalls.
The next morning the rain had cleared and it was beautiful.
There is nothing more beautiful than these two girls.

 Weeping rock.

 Emerald pools
Since we didn't get to hike the first few days we made up for it on our last day and went on 4.  It kicked our butts, but I'm so glad we did it.  We had so much fun on this trip!
Our trip ended with a rainbow over our campsite.

The past few weeks the girls have been taking ice skating lessons.  They really like it and I'm surprised at how good they are.  Their first lesson was also their first time ever ice skating.

The best part of lessons is that we are taking them with their cousins.  They are all in different classes but all the classes are at the same time, just divided into groups on the ice.
 Miss Zoe

They get to have free time the last 15 minutes of class.
Bri is so cute with her cousins.

 Little Jack.
The whole gang.

I love these kids!

So darn proud

We are lucky to have a choir at our school and Brianna has been performing with them for the past few years.
She really love to sing, and when a chance came to try out for a solo she did it.
She was chosen to sing a duet with her friend to Let's Go Fly A Kite.  She preformed it at an assembly for the whole school.  It was the first time she had sung for anyone other than family.  I think I was more nervous than she was.  But she was Amazing!  I was so proud of her.  She preformed again for the parents program that night. And again, she was Awesome.
This is Bri and the choir director the Fantastic Mrs.Fox.  We adore her.
She is also Bri's teacher this year and we feel so lucky to have her.

So here is the video I took of her singing.  The video is awful, but the singing is great.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  We've been having lots of fun the past couple of month.  Here are a few things we've been up to.
Jon and I went to the company party at the beginning of January.  It's always fun to get dressed up.

 We went bowling with Atty.
 They are getting pretty good
Carly is hilarious when she bowls.  She plunks the ball down then skips back to her seat.
We've made a trip to the aquarium.  The new otters are so cute.
 Petting the sting rays.
 Notice Brianna's cute new glasses!
We also made a trip to the zoo for a birthday party.
We've heard how great the Zoo is in the winter and that the animals are so much more active, and it is true.
We had so much fun at the Zoo.  We can't wait for all the new stuff there this summer.
What have you all been up to this winter?
