My Little Ballerina

Carly had her dance recital this weekend.  She is such a pretty little ballerina.
She is in the same class with her cousin Zoe.
They have so much fun together.

And now a whole lot more pictures.

 She really loves to dance.

My little Equestrian

Last weekend Brianna competed in her first Dressage competition.  She has done a few western shows that were pretty low key, but this was her first English show and it was a pretty big event.  She was very excited and looked so cute in her little uniform.

Bri and her teacher Jayme getting Black Pony ready.
The girls and horses from her stable rode in the show.
The first event was stadium jumping.  Her teacher had the girls run the course before they did it on their horses to help them remember.

There are many jumps set up in a small area for this event.  I think it is just impressive that they can remember the order they are to jump in.  Black was his stubborn pony self and needed a few tries to get over some of the jumps, but in the end they did them all.
 She looks so serious.

They ended up getting disqualified, due to pony stubbornness, but we were so proud that she did the whole course and all the jumps.

Next was the Dressage test.  The is to test the ability to control your horse.  The arena is marked and you walk and trot you horse at different points

They preformed like pros.  Her teacher was so proud of her scores in this event.
The last event was Cross country jumping.  While we were waiting for her turn another horse got spooked and was a bit out of control. That kind of scared Brianna, and she need a little pep talk from dad.

 And she's off......
The course was 10 jumps spread out over about a 1/2 mile, so we couldn't see a lot of it.
She did so good, and we are so proud of this sweet girl and her pony.
All the girls did great that day.
I have a feeling that this won't be our last event!

Her teacher made the sweetest video of her. You can see it here.

oy May!

The second half of May was just as busy as the first.  Jon was in Boston on business for a week and I'm just not as good without him.  But we did manage to have some fun.

We went to the Zoo with our cousins and some friends.

My friend Pam and I helped do angry birds for the 4th grade.  We made sling-shots out of exercise bands and stacked boxes for them to launch balls at.  They had so much fun.

Brianna rode horses.  She even let her sister have a ride.  Poor Carly is so alergic.
She is amazing.  She had lots of extra riding time to prepare for her first competition.
She also works hard when she is there.  I wish she was as excited about cleaning her room as she is about cleaning horse stalls.

I also went on a field trip with Brianna's class.  We toured the state capital and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer museum.  I took pictures on my other camera which I haven't downloaded yet.  It was fun and interesting.
The girls both did so well in school this year.  Carly received her Eagle award, and her Presidential fitness award.
 So Proud of her.
Brianna also got her Eagle award and the Presidential fitness award.
I'm so proud of both my girls!

Now,   let the summer fun begin!

I did it!

I survived my year as PTA president.  It's been about two and a half since I since I said I would be the president and it has also been two years of almost constant worry and anxiety.  I really felt like I didn't have what it would take to do it.  I'm not very organized, I tend to procrastinate, I don't delegate well,  the list goes on and on. I woke up in a panic more times than I could count, but in the end I did it, and I did a pretty darn good job too (If I do say so myself). I didn't do it alone, I had so many great people helping me along the way and I couldn't have done it without them.   Aside from all the anxiety I really did love doing it.  So many times when I would wonder if it was really worth it one of the kids would walk how with me and tell me a story or want to give me a hug.  I know I made a difference in the lives of many of those kids, if only by making school a bit more fun. I also made so many good friends. So if I can do it, you can do it.  So get involved, it's worth it!
